It’s fall in Florida, which means the greatest weather available in the country descends on the state. It’s a great time to be outside. Residents of the state know this and visitors come from all around the world to sample what the state has to offer. Festivals in Tampa Bay are one of the many exciting things to celebrate fall’s arrival.
Festivals in Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay area is one of the state’s major attractions. In addition to the ever-present beaches, restaurants, clubs, pubs and sporting events, the area also begins to turn up the festival season as the calendar flips into October.
The following Festivals in Tampa Bay are being held in the area in October. And, of course, if you are planning a party of your own, make sure to check out the party rentals available here at Air Fun Games in New Port Richey.
Howl-O-Scream
This annual Halloween event at Busch Gardens Tampa is legendary for providing chills, thrills and a great excuse to dress up in your best Halloween attire. There are haunted houses and spooky creatures around every corner. It’s basically the old neighborhood Halloween Haunted House from decades ago supersized and very cool. Howl-O-Scream runs from Sept. 22 to Oct. 29.
Oktober Fest
Held in downtown Tampa at Curtis Hixon Park, the annual Oktober Fest gives patrons the chance to sample brats, beer and all the fun of a Bavarian festival. The event features great food, “oompah” music, ceremonial key tappings and, yes, a beard and mustache contest. Brewers at the festival will include Goose Island, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Victory Brewing and Coppertail Brewing. Get your Bavarian on Oct. 13-15 at Curtis Hixon Park.
Hyde Park Village Art Fair
October weather is perfect for spending the day outside. And a day spent checking out art is never wasted. The Hyde Park Village Art Fair offers original artistic creations by more than 150 juried artists, including paintings, sculptures, jewelry and knick knacks. The art fair runs from Oct. 14-15.
Clearwater Jazz Festival
One of the biggest jazz festivals in the country, the Clearwater Jazz Festival every year brings together artists both from Florida and around the country. They’ll be music, of course, as well as food, drink and games. Performers this year will include Kenny Loggins, the Avett Brothers and The Temptations. The event in Coachman Park takes place Oct. 19-22.
John’s Pass Seafood and Music Festival
This annual festival gives patrons a taste of some of the freshest seafood creations in the world. There’s also music and, on the final night, a Halloween costume party. Eat some great food while enjoying rock, reggae and country music. The event runs four days, Oct. 26-29.
That’s a sampling of what’s happening in the area. Pretty much every weekend in October is a chance to get out and enjoy the perfect Florida weather. It’s also a great time to create your own perfect outdoor party in your own backyard.
