Any of these birthday spots in Tampa and the surrounding cities can provide a great time for both kids and adults. But because kids and adults typically want different kinds of parties, we’ve provided two suggestions for each and one for both.
Birthday Party in Tampa Bay For Kids
One could argue there is no better place on the planet to live for a kid’s birthday than in Tampa Bay. People from around the world travel to the Tampa Bay area to do and see the places that residents have just down the road every day. Here are two choices for a kid’s birthday party in Tampa Bay.
Busch Gardens
Busch Gardens has something to please kids of every age. It’s a haven for thrill ride fans, with roller coasters, water rides and the Falcon’s Fury, a 335-foot free fall drop ride that only a teenager could completely appreciate.
But the great thing about Busch Gardens is it also has a large zoo, with more than 200 animal species. And it’s interesting animals, too, like rhinos, cheetahs, gorillas, lions and tigers. Whether your kid loves thrill rides or animals, Busch Gardens is a one-stop shop.
The Beach
It’s Florida. Everyone should spend at least one long day (or weekend) at the beach every so often. Why not a kid’s birthday? The beaches in Tampa Bay consistently rank as some of the best in the world. In places like Clearwater and St. Pete Beach you also can find plenty of activities, from enjoying the gentle Gulf of Mexico waves to taking a trip out into the gulf on a pirate ship.
The areas near the beach also feature great hotels where you can stay if you want to make a weekend of it. You also can find wonderful seafood, ice cream parlors and places to just chill and relax.
Birthday Party in Tampa Bay For Adults
Of course, plenty of adults love the beach and Busch Gardens, too. But here are two more choices in case they want to do something different for their birthday party in Tampa Bay.
Downtown St. Petersburg
Downtown Tampa offers plenty to do, as well. But St. Petersburg is especially good for those who enjoy art. Along Beach Drive, you have great places to get a drink, have some good food and visit two museums – the Salvador Dali Museum and the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Art.
If they prefer live music for their birthday party in Tampa Bay, spend the night at one of the many clubs and music venues in the area, including Jannus Live and The Local 662. Or check out a show at the Duke Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater.
Dining Out
Tampa Bay has great restaurants. If you want to book one for a birthday, make sure to call well in advance and make a reservation. Some of the most famous restaurants in the area include The Columbia in Ybor City, Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa (do NOT skip the dessert room), Oystercatchers at the Grand Hyatt, Casa Tina in Dunedin and Donatello in Tampa.
For Kids and Adults
One birthday spot in Tampa that works for both kids and adults involves having a party in your local neighborhood park or in your own backyard. If you want to turn your backyard into a giant fun zone, party game rentals and backyard sports inflatables can do the trick. This works for both adults and kids because party rentals come with a large variety of choices that can please people of all ages. Sometimes the best parties are close to home!
